Horses become more mature in Opglabbeek

17 May 2016

Accompanied by three young horses in training – Jarpur, Casallina and Ilka van ter Hulst – Anne-Sophie went on the 2* international show jumping of Opglabbeek.

The young BWP male, Jarpur, was registered in the three 1* Young Horses classes, reserved for seven-year-old horses. He listened closely his rider from the first day when he completed a clear-round. “Even if Jarpur was a little bit tired the last day, I’m generally satisfied with his behavior during this weekend.”

Concerning Cassamoon (alias Casallina), she was at the start of three courses quoted in 1.20m. Little mistakes prevent her from finishing a round without penalty but when she gains in serenity, there should be no more problem. The mare must remain learning for more efficacy but her rider is confident. “After her beginning at the GPA Jump Festival, it’s a good resumption for Casallina, She was a little bit stressed but she remained very respectful towards the bars, and it is essential.”

The eight-year-old mare, Ilka van de Kiezel, took part in three classes quoted in 1.40m/1.45m. Despite some little penalties, she confirms her potential on track. “At only eight years old, Ilka still has a few experiences for so technical rounds but she evolves step by step.”

In a whole, this competition enables young horses to evolve well. The results are not really there but that would not take much longer. Maybe at the YH/2* international show jumping of Chantilly where Anne-Sophie will go with Ilka van de Kiezel, Jarpur and Jule de Lauzelle from May 26th. But before that, Rik will bring Bretling du Paradis Z, Carlitto van’t Zorgvliet, Jarvi de Sclef and Ulyss Morinda at the 4* international of Bourg-en-Bresse next weekend.
